Report a Correction

Last reviewed: July 2026

MCC data changes frequently. Merchants switch payment processors, banks update their coding, and new card terms are issued. If you spot incorrect data, please tell us β€” we review every report.

What to Include in Your Report

The more evidence you provide, the faster we can verify and update:

  • Merchant name β€” The store, app, or website where you transacted
  • Transaction date β€” When the charge occurred
  • Expected vs. actual MCC β€” What MCC you expected and what you saw
  • Payment method β€” Which card (e.g., UOB PPV), online vs. in-store, contactless vs. chip
  • Evidence β€” A screenshot of your bank statement showing the MCC (redact sensitive details like card numbers)
  • Card eligibility error β€” If a card is shown as eligible but didn't earn the expected rewards, tell us the card, MCC, and expected vs. actual earn rate

What Happens After You Report

  1. We acknowledge your report within 3 business days
  2. An editor reviews the evidence against existing records and external sources
  3. If verified, we update the database and the merchant page reflects the new MCC with an updated verification date
  4. If the report conflicts with existing data, we note the conflict on the merchant page and invite further evidence
  5. We email you when the correction is resolved

Known Limitations

Some MCCs are inherently variable β€” a merchant may code differently depending on the payment channel, geography, or acquiring bank. In these cases, we display all observed MCCs with context rather than a single value. If you see an MCC labelled "Reported" (not "Verified"), treat it as a community observation, not a confirmed fact.

See our methodology for how we handle conflicting evidence and confidence levels.
